Geology and Geography department of DCT’s Vasantrao Dempo HSS of Arts, Science and Commerce, Cujira, hadg conducted a session on 28/01/26 in AV room on the topic “A film screening on Otters and a talk on the process of making the film in Goa’s Khazans and Mangroves” for students of XI Science and Commerce.
Resource Person for the session was Miss Nitya Navelkar. She is a wildlife and social impact filmmaker, animator, and storyteller. She is a Communication Design graduate from the National Institute of Design.
Session started with screening of the film on Otters, which showcased their importance in our ecosystem. It was interesting and knowledge gaining session. Through the session we understood that the Otters are bio-indicators (living organism, species, or biological process that signals changes in environmental quality) therefore, they need to be protected. Overall, it was interactive session.
Session was attended by Administrator Mr. Rajesh Bhatikar, Principal Madam, Vice Principal madam and teachers and students.
Program was concluded with Vote of Thanks by Tr. Mrs. Aparna Dhawalikar.
