As a part of Golden jubilee celebrations, Biology Department of DCT’s Vasantrao Dempo HSS of Arts, Science and Commerce, Cujira, organized session on Snake awareness on the theme UNRAVEL THE MYSTERIES OF THE SERPENT WORLD on 13th September 2025 in AV room of our institution.
The chief speaker for the session was Mr. Charan Dessai, Famous environmentalist who has rescued large number of snakes and a pioneer of snake protection in Goa.
Mr. Charan Dessai provided valuable information about habitat, behaviour and clues for identifying snakes. He also informed students how to protect from snake bite and strategies to save life in case of snake bite.
The most interesting part of the programme enjoyed by students and teachers was physically handling a snake.
The Biology Department also organized Painting competition on theme Venom and Vision a Serpentine challenge
The prizes for the competition were given at the hands of Chief guest, Principal and Vice principal.
