DCT’s Vasantrao Dempo HSS organized a SESSION on “CO-OPERATIVES BUILD A BETTER WORLD”

The Department of Co-operative Studies of DCT’s Vasantrao Dempo HSS of Arts, Science and Commerce, Cujira, organized an insightful session on the theme “Co-operatives Build a Better World” on 18th August 2025.

The program was held as part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations, which also coincided with the United Nations’ declaration of 2025 as the “Year of Co-operatives.”

The session was attended by our Std. XII students, along with students from Santacruz HSS and Mushtifund HSS.

The guest speaker for the day was Mr. Manguesh Phadte, Co-operative Officer and Special Auditor from the Office of the Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Mapusa.

In his talk, Mr. Phadte explained in detail the importance, formation, and functioning of co-operative societies. He also highlighted the precautions to be taken while registering housing societies, stressing on transparency, proper documentation, and accountability to avoid future disputes. Drawing from his rich personal experience, he shared practical examples that made the session highly engaging and relatable for students.
