The Science and Health Innovation for the Nextgen Explorers (SHINE) Programme, organised by ICMR–NIMR, Field Unit, Goa, was conducted in our school on 12th August 2026 in the AV Room of DCT’s Vasantrao Dempo HSS of Arts, Science and Commerce, Cujira.
The session focused on “Prevention and Control of Mosquito-Borne Diseases”. The resource person was Dr. Ajeet Kumar Mohanty, Scientist and Officer-in-charge, ICMR–NIMR, Goa, who delivered an informative and engaging session.
An exhibition by the ICMR–NIMR team was also organised, providing students with an opportunity to learn through informative and interactive exhibits. Live mosquitoes, mosquito larvae and specimens illustrating Plasmodium and Gambusia fish were displayed.

The programme was compered by Teacher, Mrs. Siddhi Velingkar and Ms. Vanessa Fernandes (B.Ed. Trainee).
