Librarian’s Day was celebrated on 12th of August 2026 in the library of DCT’s Vasantrao Dempo HSS of Arts, Science and Commerce, Cujira, to honour the Birth Anniversary of Dr. S.R Ranganathan widely known as the Father of Library Science in India.
Principal, Mrs Amelia Barreto garlanded the portrait of Dr. Ranganathan.
Librarian, Mrs. Sneha Raikar spoke about Dr. Ranganathan and his contributions to the field of library science.
Principal emphasised on his 5 laws of library science, highlighting their importance in the libraries and to its users.
A book display was organized for our teachers and students in our school library with collaboration with Akshar Book Stall from Panjim.
The book exhibition was visited by teachers and many students.
During free periods a few students instead of wasting their free time, picked up books and read them in the library.
